Twenty years ago, Cleveland entered into a strategic partnership with the Jewish Community of St. Petersburg, Russia, to help sustain and renew Jewish life in a city where Judaism was forbidden for seventy years of Communist rule.
Two years ago, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland began a partnership with the local St. Clair-Superior neighborhood to share successful community development models through entrepreneurship, demographic growth, youth engagement, and more from Cleveland’s sister city - Beit Shean, Israel and the Valley of Springs, the region surrounding Beit Shean.

Our biggest Big Event yet! Thank you to the 400+ young adults who celebrated in style at the YLD Big Event, our signature fundraising event of the year. It was a night we'll never forget with drinks, eats, live music, plus a hilarious performance by Cleveland comedian Mike Polk, Jr.

Our Jewish Cleveland story began about three years ago. We moved back to Northeast Ohio and were eager enough to get in touch with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Young Leadership Division (YLD) Director, Jessie Bruder.
The path of discovering Judaism for Alex Sweeney of Mentor began as a child. “I really didn’t have a Jewish identity; we celebrated some holidays, but it wasn’t anything consistent. My grandfather always talked about being Jewish. I remember learning about the Holocaust, but not thinking that really happened to my people.”

Join the Jewish Federation of Cleveland for a day of inspiration and community unity at Super Sunday, Jewish Cleveland’s single largest one-day giveathon of the year! The Federation seeks volunteers to make calls that raise funds for the 2018 Campaign for Jewish Needs. The event will take place on Sunday, October 29 from 9 am to 7 pm at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building (25701 Science Park Drive, Beachwood).

Wednesday, September 6, 2017 marks the launch of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2018 Campaign for Jewish Needs, which is the annual fundraising Campaign that supports our community’s vitality and vibrancy in the year ahead. The Campaign Launch Event is open to the public on September 6 at 7:00 pm at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple’s Penni & Stephen Weinberg Social Hall (23737 Fairmount Blvd in Beachwood).
I’m a 23-year-old Clevelander; I grew up in Shaker Heights. My mom is from Israel, my dad is from Akron. Judaism has always been important to us, and I love being a part of Jewish Cleveland.
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Young Leadership Division (YLD) has launched a new Microgrant Program. With the YLD Microgrant Program, YLD hopes to create a thriving, vibrant Jewish Cleveland young adult community by empowering individuals or groups to create, plan, and host experiences for Jewish Clevelanders (ages 22-45).
What you inherit or earn during your lifetime may end up in many different places when you pass away – you may have spent it all while you were alive, it may go to the government (especially if you don't have a will), you can leave it to your children, or you can do something good for the causes you care about. Fran and Jules Belkin chose to do something good.
I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. In middle school, my family moved to Florida, but we always kept our ties with Northeast Ohio. My brother went to Camp Wise; many years later, I ended up moving back to Cleveland and taking a job as the Assistant Director for Camp Wise.
