Event Details

Description

The call for inclusion throughout the film industry has been heard in Israel, and its state-funded cinema system has heeded the call by green-lighting myriad films by and about an ever-widening range of Israel’s diverse populations. Films reflecting the cultural diversity of Israel’s population have been gaining prominence and winning accolades on the international film festival circuit, on theatrical screens, and on streaming platforms.

Join us for a virtual three-part program with Eran Polishuk, CEO and founder of Chapter Two Films, to discuss “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Contemporary Israeli Cinema.”

Programs will be hosted by Susan Wasserman, member, Cleveland Israel Arts Connection Advisory Committee and co-chair, Mandel JCC Cleveland Jewish FilmFest.

Eran Polishuk will explore the Israeli film industry’s engagement of women of color, the LGBTQ community, new immigrants, and minority voices.
