An Inspiring Evening

Lion of Judah Dinner

Last night, over 170 Lions shared an inspirational evening at the Lion of Judah Annual Dinner, featuring Keynote Speaker Jane Weitzman.

Weitzman, who was the Executive Vice President of Stuart Weitzman and the Founding Vice President of Stuart Weitzman retail, is an active philanthropist and passionate about Jewish causes.

"We have to help each other, take care of each other, as Jewish people. We have to help everybody too, of course; we have to do whatever we can because there are so many causes that are important," Weitzman said. "But, I want to say to you tonight, that what we do as Jewish people to help other Jewish people matters so much because that is how we have survived and how we will continue to survive."

Helping each other, and our community, is a value all Lions share. Rebecca Heller, this year's recipient of the prestigious Ruby Bass Award, honors a lifelong passion for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and a commitment to the Women's Campaign.

She said, "Women can make a difference, not only locally but also globally. We have these incredible women in our own community who have shown us how we can balance our personal lives and careers, and also do something meaningful for our Jewish community." Mazel Tov, Becky!

We also extend tremendous gratitude to Nan Cohen, outgoing Chair of Women's Philanthropy, and welcome her successor, Jennifer Korach, who will take on this prestigious leadership role in January.

Thank you to our Lion of Judah Chairs, Beth Wain Brandon, Michelle Hirsch, Susan Rubin, and Danielle Wild, in addition to our wonderful host committee and all of our guests.

We are #JewishCleveland and we are #StrongerTogetherCLE!
