Apply for Wolf-JDC International Fellow

Now Accepting Applications: Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Roslyn Z. Wolf-JDC International Fellow Program

Jewish Cleveland young adults are invited to travel the world and apply for the Roslyn Z. Wolf Cleveland-JDC International Fellowship. The Jewish Federation of Cleveland, in partnership with the American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), will select one applicant to participate with 25 other Jewish young adult fellows in an exceptional opportunity to spend one year abroad through a paid, individual global service opportunity.

“After spending a year in Germany, I feel not only Jewishly connected, but humanly connected. My network has expanded,” said Rachel Seiger, 2014-2015 Wolf Fellow. “I feel lucky to have been supported by the Jewish community as I immersed myself a new, foreign place.”

The Wolf-JDC International Fellow will help isolated or emerging Jewish communities develop programs that educate youth, care for the elderly, and train future leaders. Potential placement locations include Argentina, Germany, Israel, and Ukraine.

Established in 2003 by the Wolf family in cooperation with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, and JDC and its JDC Entwine Global Jewish Service Corps, the Roslyn Z. Wolf Cleveland-JDC International Fellowship is part of the cohort of 26 young JDC Entwine Global Jewish Service Corps Fellows deployed around the world. The Wolf Fellowship was created in memory of Roslyn Z. Wolf, a Trustee for Life of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, whose many years of dedicated community service has improved the lives of thousands of Jews around the globe and continues to inspire young volunteers. The fellowship is made possible through the generosity of her late husband Ambassador Milton A. Wolf, a former JDC President, and his children in honor of their late wife and mother.

Qualified applicants must have a college degree or equivalent and proven academic achievement, strong leadership and communication skills, and capacity for independent work. Knowledge of other languages is valuable in many placements.

Applications are due January 5, 2017. For more information or to apply for the JDC Entwine Global Jewish Service Corps, please visit http://jdcentwine.org/jsc.
