Description
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
"Israel: Land and Identity" focuses on the ways Israeli identity has been shaped in local and visual culture in the past century by exploring manifestations of the country's land and landscape—a seminal theme in Israeli art history. A selection of 46 works from the Levin Collection, Jerusalem offers a historical panorama; a mosaic of identities and styles which indicates a yearning for self-determination, both national and personal, essentially founded on a bond with the land.
