Description
Landscape and the human soul, place and spirit, the collective and the individual experience, are topics that form a line through the arc of Israeli art from 1948 through today. This selection of works from Cleveland collections (Part I) reveals the singularity of the artist struggling to define one’s position in relation to the surrounding natural and cultural landscape. Driven by differing attitudes and motivations, the artists share a profound connection to the diaspora portraying complex sensations of displacement and arrival.
